4th Class news – September

During the initial month of the first term, fourth class engaged in a musical art project. We learned about playing and composing various rhythm patterns.

The early stages involved the utilisation of body percussion by clicking, clapping, slapping and tapping different rhythm patterns. So it was later decided that we should expand the performance element from body percussion to the use of percussion instruments.

The idea was to construct our own musical instruments. We eventually created individual percussion shakers by putting dry rice, seeds and dry pasta into empty plastic and aluminium containers. To finish, the individual percussion shakers were decorated and painted with various bright coloured designs.
