Active Week 5th Blog

Last week our school had lots of fun during Active Week. On Monday our class did an hour of Tae-Kwon-Do. We learned kicks, punches, balancing activities and also watched Logan from our class break a wooden plank. In the afternoon we took part in Tug of War and later we had a competition against the teachers. There was great commotion when 6th class won.

On Tuesday we had an exercise class with 30 second exercises with Múinteoir Rachael. It was tough but very enjoyable. Wednesday was quite exhilarating and exciting because we had our sponsored walk to raise money for the new school building. Since we are the 2nd oldest class in the school we did the longest walk with 6th class.

Thursday turned out to be even more exciting because we walked to the playground and played for thirty minutes.  Then we walked to the woods for an art lesson and walked back to school.

On Friday we had great fun in the sun with athletics in the morning and in the afternoon we were put into teams for our Sports Day. There were 20 different stations out on the pitch that each team had to complete. We all had a super day doing the activities with our team mates.

To top off the week we ran 4 laps of the pitch which equals 1km every day of the week. It’s so hard to believe that we could only run 1 lap of the yard at the start of the year. We all really enjoyed active week and looking forward to do it again next year.
