Bláthú trip to the Fire Station

The boys in Bláthú were very fortunate to pay a visit to Midleton Fire Station! We are very appreciative to Blake’s mum, Catherine, for organising the visit for us.
Two of the firemen, Gerard and Ken, showed us around the station. They gave the boys yellow helmets to wear as they explained the different parts of the fire engine. We saw the ladders, hoses, emergency lights and the radio. We even got to sit into one of the engines and use the walkie talkies to speak to each other! The boys got to see the room where the firemen keep their uniforms.
At the end of our visit, Gerard gave each of the boys a chocolate bar! What a great treat!
