What is a Board of Management?
The Board manages the school on behalf of the Patron and is accountable to the Patron and the Minister of Education and Skills. The Principal is responsible for the day-to-day running of the school, including guidance and direction of the teachers and the other staff of the school, and is accountable to the Board for that management.
The Board of Management consists of two patron nominees, two parent nominees, two community nominees and two staff nominees (one must be the principal).
Niamh Wylde – Chairperson
Fiona Meaney – Treasurer
Rhodri Mears – Secretary to the Board and School Principal
The Board meets approximately eight times a year and two of their main goals at present is to continue managing the growth of the school from catering for the increasing enrolment as well as employing required staffing in line with Department of Education and Skill and the Patron’s guidelines. The Board are also actively continuing to campaign and finalise the plans for the much sought after permanent accommodation.
The five year school plan in consultation with Staff and the Parents Association will offer guidance and clarity on the goals set for the 2015-2020 period.
