Diane’s Junior Infant class were one of a select few classes in Cork who were chosen to attend the annual UCC Medical Society’s ‘Teddy Bear’s Hospital’ event. The kindly organised event took place in the Brookfield Health Complex on College Road on April 25th. A wide variety of the children’s teddies were tended to by 2nd and 3rd year medical students who dealt with with ailments ranging from swollen noses and broken paws to ear infections and high blood pressure! Some teddies were even lucky enough to get x-rays to check for broken bones! The children had a fantastic day and it benefited the class greatly when covering the theme of the doctor/hospital through Aistear over the past couple of weeks.
