This month 6th class completed a unit of study on the Normans in history learning about their origins, locating where they conquered, their kings and in particular a study of Norman castles.
Each group worked collaboratively in making 3D models of Norman Motte and Bailey castles. Each group had to act in role as town planners, builders and painters and used recycled / found objects to create their masterpieces.
Drawbridges, enclosed fences, houses and large mounds were included in their constructions. Everyone really enjoyed the collaborative process of construction from start to finish!
