Who are The PTA and what do they do?
At METNS, we see the role and involvement of parents as central to the ethos of the school. All parents in the school are automatically members of the Parent Teacher Association. This means that you have a unique opportunity to get involved with your child’s school, whether that be on the Board of Management, PTA Council (PTAC), fundraising, volunteering in the school, or helping out at event! The PTA is committed to providing information and support for parents/guardians and teachers, in the best interests of our children’s education.

How can you get involved?
Would you like to join the PTA Council? The Council consists of the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Committee Coordinators, the PRO, and other parents. The council meets once per month in the evening. In addition, they help support all of the wonderful activities and events that happen at school.The AGM will take place annually in October at which a new PTA Council will be elected – all are very welcome. As a voluntary organisation, the PTA welcomes all support and assistance.

Maybe you can’t commit to joining the Council but you’d like to get involved?
We have a wide variety of committees that you can join in order to help the school!
Many of these committees have a very small time commitment involved. Want to help, but not able to commit in advance to an event or activity? Then the Flex Committee is for you! We will contact you shortly before events or activities throughout the school year that need your help to see if you are available.
