September has been a very fun and exciting month for us and now I’m going to tell you all about it!
The first week of September was awesome, we went to watch an Ireland Vs Turkey soccer match. Obviously Ireland won by 3:1. Also another day, the Principal of the new Educate Together Secondary School came to 5th and 6th class to tell us about the new Secondary School and how great it is! On top of that we started swimming, it’s been very fun!! Also, for P.E we started learning how to play Gaelic football.
We were introduced to the Maya in history and the counties of Ireland in geography. During art we learned about warm and cool colours and we created a colour wheel eye which was SUPER FUN!! We started writing Irish sentences for homework, and learning lots of gaeilge at school. We learned about the Aimsir Chaite (past tense).
And last but certainly not least, we did building bridges with Múinteoir Barbara and Múinteoir Caroline. We learned to predict, think out loud and reading aloud. The first book we read with Múinteoir Barbara was called ‘I believe in Unicorns’ by Michael Morpurgo. We absolutely loved the book! We read ‘The Tear Thief’, with Múinteoir Caroline and liked it as well, but not as much as the other book.
This concludes our September Blog. Thanks to Múinteoir Caroline for teaching us a lot of fun and helpful things this month!
