First class learn all about animals and their habitats

First class were very lucky to have two animal experts visit them at the end of January. The children were so excited. They asked lots of questions and found out all about habitats and animal adaptations. Some of the children had to guess what habitat was been talked about by feeling inside a mystery box. One box had water, another sand and another leaves which matched the habitats of the ocean, desert and forest. The boys and girls also got to examine krill and plankton up close and were surprised that something as big as a blue whale would eat something as small as krill. We learned that animals adapt to their habitat so that they can survive there. We even got a chance to make some habitats ourselves, although, we didn’t get to test them on a real polar bear or a camel! Have a look at the pictures to see some of our work.
