The children in Don’s 3rd class have settled in very well to their new surrounds and are enjoying the wonderful new building in bright, spacious classrooms and yards.
They were involved in a fundraiser recently in aid of the Mercy Hospital. The children dressed as Super Heroes for the day and shared some wonderful stories on the inspiration for their heroes which included, parents, brothers, grandparents, nurses and even a coastguard rescue crew member. The children contributed towards raising €100 for the hospital, where one of their classmates, Hussaini is a patient. The Midleton News magazine has an excellent spread of photos in this week’s edition ( 11/10/17).
They have been working very well throughout September in all of their subjects. One subject of note has been their artwork where they spent the month perfecting their self portrait drawing skills in a variety of mediums including pencil and oil pastels. The children have produced a wonderful gallery of work of which they can be very proud.
