During March, Junior Infants have been learning lots about animals in Springtime. We received a visit from a local farmer who kindly brought in a sheep and 3 lambs for us to see. We enjoyed looking at the animals, listening to them baaing and learning about what they eat and where they sleep. We asked the farmer lots of questions about his farm and his animals, and he let us rub the lambs. We made bird nests and eggs using clay. We used toothpicks to make marks on our nests so they looked like they were made from twigs. Once the clay dried, we painted our nests and added a little chick. We enjoyed learning about some other things birds use for making their nests – some use wool which we think keeps their nests warm!
