To mark the Diwali festival in 1st class, we explored the meaning of the festival, along with the importance of light and examined the many traditions that are part of the five day Diwali festival. We made comparisons with other major festivals that are celebrated annually and noticed that family, food, kindness and sharing were at the heart of each celebration, regardless of where the festival originates.
One of our favourite parts of exploring Diwali was looking at many examples of the beautifully designed and colourful Rangoli. We choose to use this symbol of strength, generosity and luck as inspiration for our own fantastic creations.
