October was a hard working but fun month. As a class we did a survey on what the class best enjoyed. The results show that the children enjoyed the Halloween party the best! The children and teacher set up stations with traditional Samhain games such as apple bopping, apple on a string, an art station and a spooky reading corner. The class composed extra scary stories and read them in the library hide out that the children lovingly decorated. We also learned about how other countries around the world celebrated this time of year.
Respect was the topic of the month and we learned through drama and stories how we can show respect and how to gain respect. The children also really enjoyed learning about the history of the locality with some extraordinary projects presented. Topics such as forces in science was a hit when the children made catapults, fulcrum and levers in class!
