October was an important month at Midleton Educate Together as it focused on the promotion of Human Rights. In fourth class we explored and examined what it means to have basic human and individual rights. We also discussed how many countries around the world are not considered a free country, like Ireland, especially in relation to how children are allowed live. During October each child conducted an excellent research report on a particular humanitarian. These ranged from humanitarians that stood for peace, educational equality, female equality, civil rights and the rights of the child. Our reports included the following humanitarians; Malala Yousafzai, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi.
