Alice in Wonderland was our whole school theme for World Book Day this year. We used this as our theme in many subjects such as maths problem solving, English poetry and narratives and focused on Alice in Wonderland themed vocabulary.
We had great fun to making Alice in Wonderland themed t shirts by sewing on card shapes and making bizarre mad hats to wear for our Mad Hatters tea party on March 3rd. We set up a row of vibrant tables with teacups, doilies, cards, flowers and candles. All three 6th classes worked on fantastic poems and narratives to read out during the tea party. We decorated the corridor with Alice in Wonderland themed art and writing samples. We also read Chapter 7 of the Alice in Wonderland book: The mad Hatter’s tea party which gave us inspiration for our tea party.
