Spikeball is a simpler version of volleyball played by 5th/6th class primary students and 1st/2nd year secondary students. All 6th class pupils had the opportunity to try out this game in October and a school team was selected from a mix of sporting abilities within all the 6th classes. The selected children were trained at lunchtimes throughout November by Don.
We entered 3 teams in the Cork Primary Schools Spikeball Blitz in the Fr. Matthew’s Arena in Bishopstown on 3rd December. The children were accompanied by Aoibheann and Amy O’.The children played very well, winning a number matches and most importantly enjoyed the event and represented the school wonderfully.
