Cork City Sports 2019

The sun was shining and M.E.T.N.S was smiling…

On the 30th of May Midleton Educate Together N.S went to the Cork City Sports event in CIT. With great weather, positive minds and great training, M.E.T.N.S was able to show off their skill and fight their way to victory.

Ryan Onoh represented the Boy’s U-11 for our school, winning the heats, semi-finals and county final ! The highest achievement ever for a pupil from our school.

Mamadi represented the Boy’s U-0, winning the heats but just outside the qualification zone for the finals.

U9, U10, U11, u12, 13, boys and girls were fantastic with Briana from the U-13, Alicia from the U-10 girls both receiving silver and Robert from the boys U-13 receiving bronze in their heats.

Up at the track we had Amazing relay teams, Senior Girls (Briana, Malika ,Eliana, Maria) winning the gold and a cup. Senior Boys (Oisín, Robert, Jasper and Oli) getting bronze, Junior boys (Ryan, Harmony, Finn, Ronnie) winning a gold and a plaque and  Junior girls (Alicia, Olivia, Julia and Maya) getting silver.

M.E.T.N.S showed great maturity and respect to the teachers that went up with them, although many were unfortunate not to win a trophy, they had an amazing day cheering for their team. Hopefully next year we will see different people coming up with us.

We would like to thank the staff that took their time to train the athletes, James, Don, Laura, Danielle and Angela.

Well done M.E.T.N.S!!!

Report prepared by 6th Class students and team members – Briana, Robert and Oisín.
