On Wednesday May 21st, boys and girls from our school took to the field in Pairc Uí Chaíomh for the annual Cork City Sports. The standard at these sports is always very high, with children from all over the county competing. Every boy and girl ran superbly on the day and showed great pride in representing their school. The high level of talent amongst our pupils was clear for all to see as they won a record number of trophies for the school. As well as individual races, this year we also entered relays teams. Our boys finished a highly impressive second in a very close race which was neck and neck all the way to the finish line. After their race the boys also had the honour of meeting World Champion Rob Heffernan who gave them great advice for the future. All looked lost for our girls’ team when one of our runners fell, but showing tremendous determination, they continued on and finished an incredible third, securing more silverware for the school. Well done to all who competed and represented their school so magnificently on the day.
