Our boys soccer team was once again in action, competing at the next stage of the annual FAI Primary 5s Competition. After qualifying as winners from the previous regional round, spirits and expectations were high as we entered Turners Cross Stadium to play in the Cork County Primary Finals.
It was the first time that our school managed to reach this stage of the competition, which remains a fantastic achievement in itself. However, the boys team were not satisfied with this and were eager to progress even further. Their appetite and enthusiasm to perform was infectious as we stepped onto the pitch and prepared for the upcoming 3 group games.
Unfortunately, we were not successful on this occasion but each team member gave a great account of themselves putting in strong performances against excellent opposition. We all learned a little more about the game we love and how quickly fortunes can change.
As a school, we are enormously proud of each player and how tremendously well they represented themselves and their school throughout the whole tournament. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we are already busy plotting our return for 2024.
