Fourth class had an important and enjoyable visit recently when Joe from Zeeko arrived to discuss an increasingly relevant topic; safe internet use. The children gave fantastic contributions during the visit and displayed an awareness to some of the risks associated with on-line gaming especially. Joe delivered some very clear and easy to follow instructions that the children could easily adopt. Most notably the “Stop Block Tell!” strategy. It is obvious from the discussion that when the children were on-line they can become vulnerable to certain threats. Joe presented the children with the idea of a ‘Chatbudi’ which is a person, usually at home, that each child can talk openly to about their personal internet use.
