Safer Internet Day 2019 at METNS

Today the children the Senior Classes (1st  to 6th)  in participated in activities to celebrate Safer Internet Day.

In  Don’s 6th class the children completed a research quiz using the internet on famous explorers.

What they didn’t know, was that one of the information sources provided actually contained false information !

This activity opened up a worthwhile discussion on the need to validate research information, by checking its accuracy from a variety of internet sources, especially well known and trusted sites.

The children concluded by having a look at a very interesting website www.thedogisland.com.

Have a look for yourself ! There’s NOWHERE quite like it !

In Danielle’s 2nd class, the children loved learning about  ‘Buddy the Dog’s’ internet safety story and engaging in a quiz about it.

They learned Buddy’s ‘Use your tablet safely !’ song and created a poster to promote internet safety too.

All children from 1st to 6th class, received a wristband to promote Safer Internet Day and the importance of making sure that their internet experiences are enjoyable and most importantly safe !
