What’s been happening in first class??

What a great time we have had so far in 2022!
In SESE we have been learning about the farm.We had a wonderful  zoom call with Farmer Rose and Farmer Owen who have a dairy farm based in West Cork and we got a virtual tour of the farm with lots of “ooings and ahhings” from the children. The farmers gave us a great insight into daily life on the farm and an in depth understanding of milk production and the importance of safety on the farm.We got to meet 2 calves who were just a few hours old.Farmer Rose gave us the opportunity to name the new arrivals with Zuzanna’s “Luna” and Broden’s “Buddy” being the names Rose decided on.
We also had a zoom call with “Aussie Paul” following on from Australia Day on 26th January and the children had lots of questions for Paul on how they celebrate the day, native Australian animals and life in general in Australia. We drew some really great koalas also to decorate our classroom. We will be focusing more on the theme “Australia” in April.
To celebrate Chinese New Year each pod got to make a Chinese New Year Dragon. This was a great opportunity for the children to work together and it was lovely to see the great teamwork taking place.
Great work First Class.
Well done!
