We have been very fortunate to receive the support from Paula Maddan our Yellow Flag Coordinator who stated that
” the achievement reflects the hard work put in by teachers, parents, students, and community groups to support all the children to learn to celebrate diversity and challenge racism and discrimination……raising the Yellow Flag is a powerful symbol of not only the schools achievements in this area but also  the schools ongoing commitment to promoting inclusion and celebrating diversity”
Midleton Educate Together became the first school in Cork to achieve this award and will work hard to keep it. It was a momentous occasion for the school. We will fly our flag with pride.

Thank you Paula for all of your guidance, thank you Muinteoir Shelley and the Yellow Flag Committee for their determination and drive in achieving the school’s first Yellow Flag.

“No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite”.
