Towards the end of the September the school entered team of 45 children from 1st to 6th classes in the East Cork Cross Country Championships which were this year in a new venue, in Castlelyons.
All participants had successfully come through class trials and 3 weeks of dedicated training under the tutelage of three of our teachers Alan,James and Don. They were greatly assisted by the expertise of Anna Moroney of Midleton Athletics Club.
The children performed wonderfully on the day and 7 of the children medalled in their categories.
They were a real credit to the school on the day and it was wonderful to have such an enthusiastic representation.
Let’s hope they’ve caught the running bug !
